APT Tips

• Deploy APT updates through firewall using SSH
• Making your own APT repository based on existing RPM directory (containing RPMS and SRPMS subdirs filled by packages generated by rpmbuild): README, DOWNLOAD.
• Publish cache of APT client to APT server repository
• Automated kernel update under ALTLinux

Important note: each script calls genbasedir independently, but this is for demonstration purpose only! In real environment, you should call genbasedir only once per storage for build indexes of all included repositories together, for example:

ARCH=ix86 genbasedir --topdir=/var/ftp/pub/apt $ARCH miscpkgs cache ...
